Luke 3

Luke 3 - by Randy Reed

“Then John(the baptist) went from place to place on both sides of the Jordan River preaching that people should be baptized to show that they had repented of their sins and turned to God to be forgiven.” Luke 3:3

John was a passionate guy! He was passionate about salvation and baptism! Scripture says he went “from place to place on both sides of the Jordan.” John didn’t just visit the places with the nicest people or most easily accessed. He went from one to the next sharing the Good News with all he encountered.

Because of jobs, duties, sports practices… life, we may be unable to simply just travel from town to town like John. But what if we saw every place we went as a place to share the Gospel? Maybe your typical day goes something like this: you leave home and head to work, stop for gas, get to work and end up in a meeting, you talk to someone out of the ordinary, stop off at the market for bread before heading home, etc. These are our “place to place” places. We take Jesus everywhere!

God, thank you for the lives you’ve given us. Thank you that we are unique in who we are, including the situations and places we encounter every day. Holy Spirit, teach us to hear your voice. Teach us to hear and follow your promptings to touch the lives of others, to speak words of life, or to simply share kind, loving words. Help us take you from place to place! Amen.
