The Mirror of Grace
Have you ever caught yourself trying to "clean yourself up" before drawing near to God? Or maybe you’ve relied on your good behavior to prove you're on the right track.
In this message on Romans 3:9–20, we look into the "Mirror of Grace" and unpack three common cultural lies about righteousness, human effort, and God's law:
Lie #1: We can be good enough to be considered righteous on our own.
The Truth: None are righteous on their own—not even one (Romans 3:10, Matthew 5:21–22, James 2:8–13).
Lie #2: The Law is the cure.
The Truth: The Law is the diagnosis, not the cure; its purpose is to reveal our need for mercy, not to make us right with God (Romans 3:19–20, Luke 18:9–14).
Lie #3: *Religion says, "Clean yourself up so God will accept you." *
The Truth: The Gospel says, "Jesus accepts you so He can heal you from the inside out" (2 Corinthians 3:16–18, Philippians 2:13).
Join us as we move away from self-reliance and experience true freedom, transformation, and God’s relentless grace.
